Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and FormOS for using the FormOS website, web app, Chrome extension and WhatsApp assistant. Please read them. By creating an account or using FormOS you agree to them.

01Accepting these terms

You may use FormOS only if you are 18 or older (or a parent or guardian is managing the account for you), can form a binding contract, and are not barred from using the service by any law. If you use FormOS for an organisation, you confirm you may accept these terms for it.

These terms work together with our Privacy Policy.

02What FormOS does

FormOS lets you store documents, reads the details in them, answers questions about them, helps check eligibility for schemes, and fills forms in the web app, the Chrome extension and WhatsApp.

FormOS reads documents with automated tools, including optical character recognition and AI. These tools can make mistakes. Details can be misread, missing or wrong. You are responsible for checking what FormOS reads and what it fills in before you rely on it or submit a form. Eligibility results are guidance only and are not a decision by any authority.

FormOS is not a government service and is not connected to UIDAI, the Income Tax Department or any other issuing authority.

03Your account and PIN

  • Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your PIN, authenticator device and recovery codes private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Tell us straight away at hello@formos.ai if you think someone else has got into your account.
  • If you choose Security V2, we cannot read or recover your documents. If you lose your PIN and your recovery codes, your encrypted documents may be lost for good.

04Your documents and content

Your documents remain yours. You give FormOS permission to store them, process them, and use the details in them only as needed to provide the service to you, including sending them to the service providers named in our Privacy Policy.

You confirm that you have the right to upload each document. Upload only your own documents, or documents of someone who has clearly agreed and for whom you are allowed to act. Do not upload another person's documents to pose as them.

You can delete documents at any time. You can download your originals while your account is open.

05What you must not do

  • Break the law, or use FormOS to commit or help fraud, identity theft or forgery.
  • Upload someone else's documents without their permission, or use details that are not yours to fill forms.
  • Try to get into accounts or data that are not yours, or to bypass the PIN, step-up checks, limits or other security.
  • Probe, overload, scrape or disrupt the service, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.
  • Send malware, or content that is unlawful, harmful or infringes the rights of others.
  • Use the WhatsApp assistant to send spam or abuse, or share your login with others.

You must also follow the terms of the websites where you use the extension to fill forms. You are responsible for what you submit on them.

06WhatsApp and the Chrome extension

The WhatsApp assistant works through WhatsApp and depends on it. It can be slow, be unavailable, or stop working if WhatsApp changes or limits access. You also agree to WhatsApp's own terms. Messages in a chat are visible to anyone with access to your phone or chat, so you are responsible for who can see them.

Sending a document to your WhatsApp from the app needs your PIN and goes only to your own verified number.

The Chrome extension is provided as is. Websites differ, so it may not fill every field or may fill one wrongly. Always check the form before you submit it.

07Plans and payment

FormOS has a free plan and paid plans, with the features and limits shown on our pricing section. If a paid plan applies to you, we will show the price and billing period before you pay. We may change plans, prices or limits for the future with reasonable notice, and a change does not affect a period you have already paid for.

08Our rights

FormOS, its software, design, name and logo belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable right to use the service under these terms. We welcome feedback, and you agree we may use it to improve FormOS without owing you anything for it.

09Availability and changes

We work to keep FormOS running, but we do not promise it will always be available or error free. We may change, pause or remove features. We may update these terms, and if the change is important we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies. If you keep using FormOS after that, you accept the new terms.

10Ending your account

You can stop using FormOS at any time and ask us to delete your account by writing to hello@formos.ai.

We may suspend or close an account if you break these terms, put other people or the service at risk, or the law requires it. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why, and let you download your documents first.

11Disclaimers and limits on our liability

FormOS is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no warranty that the service, or anything it reads, fills or says, is correct, complete, or fit for a particular purpose, including any application, exam, job, scheme or legal filing.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, opportunity or data, or loss caused by a form submitted with wrong details, an incorrect eligibility result, a third party service, or your loss of a PIN or recovery codes. Our total liability to you for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or INR 1,000 if you paid nothing.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or any right you have as a consumer under law.

12If something goes wrong because of you

You agree to cover reasonable losses and costs we suffer from claims by others that arise because you broke these terms, uploaded documents you had no right to use, or misused the service.

13Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Pune, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, unless a law gives you the right to go elsewhere. Please write to us first at hello@formos.ai and we will try to settle the matter informally.
